David P. Ackerman, a founding partner of Ackerman, Link & Sartory, practices in the areas of complex business litigation, securities arbitration, legal ethics and professional malpractice, employment and trade secrets litigation, and class actions.
David is Board Certified in Business Litigation and has received the 'AV' rating from the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. He is a member of the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh and Seventh Circuits; United States District Court, Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida; and The Florida Bar.
David is President of the Federal Bar Association, Palm Beach Chapter. He also serves as a member of the Executive Council of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar and serves on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 4th District Court of Appeals. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and serves on the Federal Civil Procedure Committee and the Florida State Committee. David has served as a Past Chair of The Professionalism and Commercial Litigation Committees of the Palm Beach County Bar Association. He is Chair of the Law Student Program Committee and a Past Chair of the Business Litigation Committee of the Business Law Section. He is Past Chair of The Judicial Nominating Commission for the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. David is a steering committee member of Business Litigation in Florida (Fla. CLE 4th ed. 2001) and authored 'Recovery of Attorneys' Fees'.
David is a Trustee and Past President of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Inc., Past Chair and member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and a Florida Bar Foundation fellow. He is a past recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. He chairs the annual Community Appreciation Awards Ceremony at The Salvation Army's Northwest Community Center in downtown West Palm Beach.
David has been listed in recent editions of The Best Lawyers of America. David was also named one of the Top Lawyers in South Florida for business litigation as designated by the South Florida Legal Guide. He is listed in Florida Trend Magazine as one of the 'Florida Legal Elite' for business litigation and business law. He is a fellow in The American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of its Florida State Committee and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure Committee.
David is the 2006 recipient of the Professionalism Award given by the Palm Beach County Bar Association to recognize an individual who exemplifies the highest ideals of ethics within the legal system.
